The workshops are a Computer Science Department/College of Health, Engineering and Science at SRU to introduce students to computer programming and technology. Depending on the grade level, students will learn computer programming, robotics, computer visualization and programming computer hardware. All workshops will be offered in the Advance Technology and Science (ATS) building at Slippery Rock University. For information regarding time, date, and location of the semester workshops, click here Cost: $50 for one class, $75 for two or more classes and/or one or more siblings for all three days. A limited number of seats are available for those unable to pay for the workshop. Please submit the registration with a reason in the Note area and we will consider it on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will contact you to confirm if there are seats available. The workshop is partially funded by Dr. Michael Zieg, Dean, College of Health, Engineering and Science, Computer Science Department, and an anonymous donors. Funds from registration will be used towards purchasing materials required for the workshops, covering registration costs of students who cannot afford to pay for the workshops and for funding charitable causes such as school weekend lunch programs for food insecure students . All instructors are conducting workshops on a volunteer basis to enhance the computer skills of K-12 students in our region. |
