Slippery Rock University

Day Camp for Grades 2-5


​The day camp is to foster and unleash the creative, problem solving and inter-disciplinary skills of the kids. The day camp will consist of sessions in Photoshop, Biology, Fun with Chemistry, Spanish, Japanese, Arabic, Math, Wall Climbing, Open Court, Swimming, ABC with Space, Planetarium Show, Fun with Physics, Space Rendezvous, Scratch and MBot programming.

** All funds from registration will be used for purchasing materials required for the workshops, covering registration costs of stu-dents who cannot afford to pay for the workshops and for funding free and reduced rate /weekend school lunch programs for food insecure kids in the neighboring school districts. All instructors and students from the SRU Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Education, Exercise Science, Modern Languages, Physics, and Computer Science departments are conducting the workshops on a volunteer basis to enhance the inter-disciplinary skills of the kids in the district.
 
The workshop is partially funded by Dr. Jerry Chmielewski, Dean, College of Health, Environment and Science, departments of Biol-ogy, Chemistry, Computer Science, Education, Exercise Science, Modern Languages, Physics, and Computer Science and and an anonymous donor.
