This November, continue supporting one of the amazing scholarships or awards available to SRU students who are currently serving, or who have courageously served, our country through service in the U.S. Military.
Captain Jason M. West Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a fully time ROTC undergraduate student at SRU, the scholarship rewards a dedication to a career in military service.
Captain Kathlene Contres USN Scholarship.
Awarded to an incoming freshman student who will be participating in the ROTC program, the scholarship highlights the role of minorities in the military with preference for the award given to minority students enrolling at SRU.
Christopher Loudon Hero Scholarship.
Awarded to a full time ROTC senior, who has participated in the Ranger Challenge, the scholarship rewards academic success and strength of character through demonstrated discipline, integrity and character.
The Class of 1968 Scholarship for Veterans.
Awarded to a full time student at SRU who has served in any branch of the US military, the scholarship was created to celebrate veterans returning to higher education after their military careers.
LeAnn Penn Biology – Military Service Scholarship.
Awarded to an upperclassman undergraduate student, the scholarship is used to reward contracted ROTC, current, or veteran military personnel who are majoring in Biology.
The SRU SVA Service Dog Project.
Thanks to the overwhelming support from the Slippery Rock University community and the efforts of the SRU chapter of the Student Veterans of America (SVA), we have been able to award two service dogs, Justice and Gordon, to SRU Student Veterans in the last two years. This year we will meet Carl, a labradoodle who will be awarded to a third SRU Student Veteran.  To learn more about the Service Dog Project visit their crowdfunding project found here.
