Jairus J. Moore Diversity, Inclusion & Safety Scholarship Jairus. J. Moore Diversity, Inclusion, and Criminal Justice Scholarship
Inspired to promote equity on campus, Jairus Moore ’19, ’20 has established two annual scholarships at Slippery Rock University: the Jairus J. Moore Diversity, Inclusion and Safety Scholarship in March 2019 and the Jairus J. Moore Diversity, Inclusion, and Criminal Justice Scholarship in May of 2022. These scholarships reward Safety Management and Criminal Justice majors who are involved on campus and value diversity in the workplace. Diversity and inclusion are necessary in the workplace for employees to feel supported. Through the application process, students explore the importance of equity and inclusion in their field.
Jairus J. Moore graduated in 2013 from Triangle Tech with an AA in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. In 2016, he came to Slippery Rock University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Safety Management and commissioned in the US Army as a Field Artillery Officer in 2019. He continued his journey at SRU and completed his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2020. He was a volunteer Fire Fighter, a part of the Army ROTC, Council of Trustees, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, Slippery Rock Cheer, and participated in many other clubs and work programs. He loves Slippery Rock University because of the many opportunities it provided him to grow personally, meet wonderful people, and be successful in the future.
