4th Annual Miles for McKeever

Wednesday, August 2nd 2017 7:00PM

Presented by McKeever Environmental Learning Center
​Description: This unique 5K trail race will meander you through the scenic woodlands of the McKeever Center. Runners & Hikers welcome! Free kids (10 & under) ½ mile fun run at 6:30PM.
 
Awards: Top three overall males & females will receive awards, age group awards in 10 year increments, and finisher awards to all participants.
 
​Fee: $20 Registrations accepted up until race morning. All participants registered by July 19th, 2017 will receive a long sleeve t-shirt and a finishers award. Remaining t-shirts will be first come, first served.  Post-race refreshments and snacks will be provided to all participants.
 
Packet Pickup/Late Registration: Wednesday, August 2nd 2017 4:30-6:45PM at McKeever’s Dining Hall. **Kids start at 6:30PM
 
BENEFITS: The proceeds from this race will benefit the McKeever Environmental Learning Center. Proceeds will be used for education materials and to maintain trails. Our general mission is to guide individuals toward developing and maintaining a sustainable relationship between themselves and the natural world in his/her workplace, residence and recreation. McKeever’s residential campus provides a unique educational setting for experiencing and exploring personal connections and the impact it has on the natural world.

By indicating your acceptance, you understand, agree, warrant, and covenant as follows:
Waiver: In consideration of the acceptance of this entry in said 5K trail race, October 18, 2015, at McKeever Environmental Learning Center, we the undersigned participant and (if participant is under 18 years of age) parent or guardian, intending to be legally bound, do hereby for ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administers, waive , release, and forever discharge any and all rights or claims for damages which we, or either of us, may  have or which hereafter accrue to us, or either of us , against any and all persons, organizations, and legal entities affiliated with such race, and more particularly, McKeever Environmental Learning Center, The Runner’s High timing service, together with their representative officers, agents, representatives, employees, successors, volunteers, assign and/or sponsors, for any and all damages which may be sustained or suffered by us in connection with or entry in, and/or arising out of our travel to, participation in, and returning from said race. I/we acknowledge that a running race, or hiking event  is an extreme test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. I HEREBY ASSUME ALL THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN SAID RACE. I/we certify that I/we are/am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for participation in this event(s), and have not been advised against participation by a qualified health professional.  I/we understand that this is an arduous athletic event and hereby certify that I/we are/am have trained and properly conditioned to participate. In case of weather related cancellation, I understand that my entry fee will be forfeited but I will still be entitled to my race bag and finishers award.
