Head Coach Ian Grady
Ian Grady is in his 10th overall season on the coaching staff at Slippery Rock University and his first as head coach.
On Nov. 2, 2018, it was announced that Grady would assume the role of acting head coach entering the 2018-19 season. The "acting" tag was removed in early February of 2019, making Grady the 19th head coach in SRU program history.
Grady first served as a graduate assistant for two years from 2009-11 before being elevated to the lead assistant coaching role with the program prior to the 2011-12 season.
As the top assistant for the program, Grady played an integral role in recruiting, scouting and player development at The Rock.
Grady helped guide Slippery Rock to a stellar 167-101 (.623) record over his first nine years on the staff, which included eight winning seasons, five 20-win seasons, seven trips to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament and three NCAA Tournament berths.
Grady was on the sidelines for two of the best teams in program history. First, the 2012-13 squad that matched a program record with 23 wins en route to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and then in 2014-15, when SRU once again advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before ending the season with an overall record of 21-11.
On his watch, 15 Rock players have received All-PSAC West honors including 2012-13 PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year Luiz Santos and eventual All-Americans Micah Till, Maron Brown and Devin Taylor.
He has also played a vital role in helping 14 Rock student-athletes continue their careers professionally in America and overseas.
